WHAT are ROCKET READS?

Rocket Reads is a term I started using in some of my blog posts, so if I didn't explain it enough in the blog posts, I want to take some space here and explain what I mean by a Rocket Read.

There are some books that I read that don't move me that much.  I still am glad I read them, but they don't challenge my thinking, introduce me to an unknown story or give me some inspiration that makes me want to be a better person.  And then there are the Rocket Reads.  These are books that send me on a trajectory in my journey.  Sometimes they mess with me, sometimes they give me something to think about that I never bothered with before and sometimes they are a stories of a people whose journeys are so radically different from mine that I need to read them to know a side of life I have never been exposed to.

Whatever the impact these Rocket Reads have on me, I am grateful for the opportunity to share them so maybe someone else can be inspired, encouraged and challenged on their journey.  Only the Rocket Reads make it on my blog.  There are a lot of Rocket Reads that are not on my blog... yet... but that would be because I read them before I started this blog this year (2020) .  I often grab a book out of the archives and will post it.  I dug out some more books this month that are from my past that I just might share here as well.
